My Updated Skincare Routine Suitable for Beginner
Hello hello everyone.
In this post, I will be sharing with you my updated skincare routine 2023 version which much much more better than previous before that I posted in this blog. In those two posts, you can clearly see I was still figuring out what products suit my skin the best. But as a 15-16 years old, I didn't even know what I was doing and just going through the process. However, in the meantime, I learn something thanks to Twitter skincare guru and a bunch of blog posts that I read before this. By any means, I'm not an expert in skincare and I just do what I think the best for me. Not further ado, let's check it out.

Cleanser
First thing first, you will need a good cleanser that does not strip off your skin and leaves your skin feeling tight afterwards. Also, you need to choose the cleanser that is suitable for your skin type.
Currently, I'm using COSRX Cica Creamy Foam Cleanser and it is suitable for my skin type. However, I can't tell much more as I did not have sensitive skin or acne. But in terms of doing its job, it is great and pretty well.
Oil Cleanser/Makeup Remover
I no longer use makeup wipes to remove my makeup. If you still please ditch it immediately because it is harsh for your skin due to you need to rub, and tug off the makeup. So, what I do to remove my makeup is, I switch to oil cleanser and it is great for removing your makeup. Currently, I'm using Biore Makeup Remover Cleansing Oil which definitely every Malaysian loves. The reasons why I love this cleanser, it doesn't irritate your skin, and it does remove my makeup, also I can easily remove my mascara too. But the bonus point is, it is cheap and doesn't break my bank account.
Toner
I'm an avid user of Hada Labo Toner, however, when I was in Korea, I couldn't find this toner and decided to give it a try to a local brand which is One Thing Centella Asiatica Extract. This product went viral in Malaysia and my friend even asked me to get this toner for her. In my personal opinion, I think this toner is great for people who have sensitive skin since it has Centella Asiatica which is great as an anti-inflammatory agent. But since I have an oily skin type, my skin really really loves Hada Labo toner which I totally recommend it. For Malaysians, you can purchase this here on TikTok Shop which is only RM18.90-41.90 if you're first time shopping in this shop.
Moisturizer
Do NOT skip moisturizer even if you have an oily skin. It is very important to make sure your skin is always hydrated. If you skip the moisturizer it only produces much more oil. We don't need that and that's what moisturizer comes to the rescue. To be honest, I'm really picky when choosing my moisturizer which I consistently switch up and try new products. Right now, I'm using COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream that I got from TikTok Shop for a good price since I bought it for the first time customer. You can get it from here. I decided to try this product because everyone said it was REALLY that good, and of course, me being me I needed to jump on the bandwagon and try this. I can't give a details review because I just bought this, but what I can say, the cream really thick and dry skin will appreciate you. I will definitely make a full review on this product soon!

Sunscreen or SPF
If you use any fancy skincare but don't even bother to wear SPF, it is just useless. Many people stress the importance of sunscreen and you should add it to your skincare routine if you are not, right now. I'm sticking to this one and only sunscreen that I have used for years and absolutely love which is Biore UV Perfect Protect Milk. Most importantly it doesn't leave me with a white cast, or sticky feeling and is suitable for my oily skin.

Extra
Niacinamide
If you are a beginner and don't have any skin concerns, you can skip this step. However, since I have discolouration, I need more specific ingredients or products to target my needs. Hence why, I use Nature Republic Niacinamide Luminous Skin to solve my problems. I'm being honest here, I did not consistently use this product, so I can't give you any details. Furthermore, I saw this product on a drugstore shelf and just grabbed it without knowing other user feedback.
Chemical Exfoliator
If you're a beginner, I suggest you not jump straight into chemical exfoliator if you don't have a strong basic skincare routine as it is quite strong for your skin. I use a chemical exfoliator to control my sebums, unclog my pores and remove my whitehead and blackhead. COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid is a great product if you just start using a chemical exfoliator as it's not too harsh for your skin and has only 7% AHA. But a reminder, chemical exfoliators are not meant to wear it every day. You should only wear it 2-3 days a week only, and don't forget to read the product's label.
From this post alone, you can tell what's my favourite skincare brand. lol. That's all from me and I hope you can get the glimpse of what you need if you want to start your skincare journey.
See you in the next post!
